Join our mission at The School for Moral Ambition as we expand our transformative community into the UK, coinciding with the launch of Rutger Bregman's inspirational book, 'Moral Ambition'. Our organization thrives on fostering ethical leadership and community engagement. You’ll be part of an enthusiastic team, working to replicate the successful Amsterdam and Berlin book launches, and creating a vibrant, impactful community in London.

  • Establish and nurture the Moral Ambition Community in the UK.
  • Collaborate with co-founder Julia van Boven and the EU team for strategic growth.
  • Opportunity for advancement to a director role, with the potential to raise funds and expand the team.
  • Act as the primary contact for community inquiries and member integration.
  • Recruit and mentor ambassadors exemplifying moral ambition.
  • Support and guide new Circle leaders through the program.
  • Build and motivate a volunteer network to broaden community impact.
  • Plan and host events to solidify community ties and inspire action.
  • Promote inclusivity and diversity within the community.
  • Launch innovative initiatives to cultivate the UK Moral Ambition Community.

The role

This role presents the unique opportunity to build and lead the Moral Ambition Community in the United Kingdom. In April 2025, Rutger Bregman’s book Moral Ambition will be published in the UK. In the Netherlands and Germany, the launch of the book created a lot of momentum, and we expect the same will happen in the UK.

As our UK Community Lead, you will collaborate closely with Julia van Boven (co-founder and EU Community Director) to leverage this momentum and build a flourishing moral ambition community in London. You will also build upon the lessons from the Amsterdam and Berlin launches, and collaborate closely with the rest of the EU team.

You have the potential to grow into a director position, in which you will raise funding and hire a team to execute more programs of The School for Moral Ambition.

Key responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for virtually all incoming inquiries, welcoming individuals in and helping them find or start a Circle.
  • Recruit and onboard high-profile role models of moral ambition as ambassadors to champion the Moral Ambition movement across the UK.
  • Support and coach Moral Ambition Circle starters, empowering them to lead groups successfully through our Circle program.
  • Mobilize and engage a dedicated volunteer base, working together to expand the community’s reach.
  • Organize and facilitate events that bring members together, inspire new commitments, and reinforce the community’s purpose.
  • Foster an inclusive and diverse community, ensuring that members from all backgrounds feel welcomed, represented, and empowered within the Moral Ambition Community.
  • Implement new initiatives that support and grow the Moral Ambition Community in the UK, setting the stage for our continued growth.
