Join the Greenwich Music School as an Operations Generalist, a role with real responsibility and the opportunity to shape a better musical future for all
Overview
£30000
Fully remote or Hybrid; London
Expires at anytime
Greenwich Music School is a charity offering high-quality, accessible music education that helps people thrive through creativity and learning.
We work across South East London and online, with a team of over 40 teachers and more than 650 students learning each week. We believe in music as a tool for confidence, connection and expression—and we want more people to have access to it, regardless of background or ability.
We’re looking for a calm, organised and thoughtful generalist to deliver and shape operations and student experience.
You’ll be the person making things work—from replying to parent enquiries to setting up lesson schedules, supporting teachers, coordinating events and helping shape the systems behind it all. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll make a visible difference to how students access music and how our team works together.
You’ll be the only dedicated operations and student services team member, working closely with the co-founders (the CEO and Principal).
There’s no wider admin team—so this is a role with real responsibility, variety, and scope to shape how things work. You’ll need to be comfortable working independently, making decisions, and managing your own workload, while staying closely aligned with our values and priorities.
You’ll thrive here if you enjoy figuring things out, improving how things run, and bringing clarity to complexity.
You’re someone who gets satisfaction from a clear inbox, a tidy spreadsheet and a thoughtful reply. You know how to spot what’s worth doing properly—and what can be batched, templated or left out entirely. You’ll need to be self-directed, comfortable working with a bit of mess, and up for helping us grow.
We’re not expecting a long CV of experience in arts education or operations. You might be coming from a different sector or changing career direction. What matters most is that you’re friendly, organised, proactive and aligned with our values: creativity, positivity, quality and respect.
We’re a small, creative, and collaborative team.
You’ll be working closely with the CEO and Principal, with plenty of autonomy and space to shape your work. While we’ve grown quickly in recent years, we’re still building and refining our systems—so there’s lots of opportunity to make things better and bring your ideas to life.
The role is full-time (37.5 hrs), but we’re open to part-time or job share arrangements. The role can be fully remote or hybrid (up to 50% on-site in Greenwich), though we do ask for Monday availability to follow up on weekend enquiries. Please indicate your preferences at application.
