You’ll be immersed in the Knepp Rewilding Project where no two days are the same. It’s an extremely physical and busy role with early starts and late finishes, spread across 6 days/week, making it more of a lifestyle choice than a job. As such, it suits a couple or two friends who are happy to share accommodation and jointly fulfil the warden duties.

The accommodation is FREE and includes utility bills.

As well as day-to-day cleaning and maintenance, you will provide five-star customer service to our guests, many of whom return year after year, and general maintenance and problem solving. Camping is in a large wildflower meadow, while in the woods there are two magical treehouses and Shepherd’s Huts. We also have a lovely shop and welcome area where people like to hang out and chat, or snuggle up around the wood burner when it gets chilly. As well as campers, we welcome over ten thousand safari guests each season and look after the facilities they use.

Who we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a couple or two friends who are willing to live and work together. It’s a tough job with early starts and late finishes, working 6 days a week including evenings and weekends, but you will be rewarded by a competitive salary, free accommodation and bills and the chance to live in the heart of the Knepp rewilding project.

It really is a unique opportunity. As well as being passionate about people, it would be beneficial if you have an interest in nature conservation and wildlife. Experience of working in hospitality, tourism or retail would be ideal, and practical DIY skills would be an advantage. You will have a meticulous eye for detail, problem solving and anticipating the needs of guests. A full UK drivers license is essential, as is good communication skills and experience of basic IT systems such as Microsoft 365 and using a till.  You will see this opportunity as a lifestyle choice for the summer season.

It’s a great place to work with lots of staff benefits including yoga, film screenings, gin evenings and wellness days plus 20% off in the café and shop.
