Role Summary
- Manage and guide the Financial reporting Accountants team.
- Develop a culture of excellence and leadership within the team.

Role Requirements
- Leadership skills with a clear ability to manage teams.
- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in finance operations management or R2R.
- Background in Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or a related industry.
- Proven capability in policy design and implementation.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.

Role Description
We are building an exciting new Low Carbon Finance Services (LCFS) team in London. This team will be at the centre of delivering innovative and effective processes as we grow into large-scale renewable energy company.
The Senior Financial Accountant role is part of the dynamic LCFS team delivering specialist Finance services in a timely and accurate manner. Leading a team of qualified accountants, the role will report to the Senior Finance Manager, and will work to ensure processes are performed in accordance with performance and quality standards. This position is focused on assisting with closing and reporting and adherence to statutory requirements, ensuring and robust and compliant controls environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the work of Financial reporting Accountants, in line with Low Carbon and regulatory policies, standards and procedures
- Leading a small team, support and develop a culture of excellence within the team and demonstrate leadership by motivating, engaging, and inspiring team members, ensuring that people development requirements are planned and implemented
- Maintain close relationships with customers (within Low Carbon and Third Party Asset Management) to ensure responsiveness to their needs, track service delivery and performance, and support escalation and resolution of any performance issues
- Develop and implement standards, processes, systems, and ways of working – this includes refining existing working practices and reviewing fit to customer needs
- Embed a strong focus on service excellence and continuous improvement for all the services delivered by the process team
- Review entity-level monthly accounts for Low Carbon entities and external clients
- Review statutory accounts and financial statements on an annual basis
- Manage the year end audit process for a portfolio of SPVs
- Oversee supplier payment run process, reviewing payments and releasing on the banking system
- Review VAT and Corporation Tax returns for submission to HMRC
- Ensure the team’s activities and reports are compliant with accounting principles, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), applicable government regulations and adhere with company policies

Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Have a strong background in management of finance operations or Record to Report (R2R), and / or experience of delivering a continuous improvement agenda
- Experience working with an SPV structure within Renewable Energy, Infrastructure, or similar industry
- Demonstrable experience of driving improvement in a growing global organisation
- Delivery management experience, including managing teams at all project phases, exemplary track record in successful client relationship management and multi-project oversight
- Experience of directly managing people including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
- Proven ability to design and effectively implement policies, procedures, and a track record of superior customer service to employees, customers and/or vendors
