Volunteer Football Marketing and Social Media Officer

What will you be doing?

Tove Valley Football Club are a young grassroots football club based in Towcester, South Northamptonshire as the towns main adults football side, partnered with Towcester Town Juniors FC, a large established youth football club. Having formed in 2018, Tove Valley have grown to become one of the fastest growing adults football sides in the area, aiming to be a club with a difference with our club philosophy and culture built on delivering opportunities to underrepresented members of the community in football A key part of this is our ambition to form a Womens Football team which we have achieved this season with a training group building up to entering the football league in summer 2024, with our Ladies Team given complete equality within the club and a priority. We also as part of our Mens football pathway work with young refugees, children in care, young people and members of the minority communities. As a club looking to have a unique and modern offering with a difference, social media and digital interfaces has been a big part of our clubs growth, with a small team regularly engaging with followers through our growing platforms, however the wide range of social media and digital platform types means we have found ti difficult to create engaging and creative content in significant quantities. We are therefore looking for a volunteer social media and marketing officer who is passionate about football and sport and equality, delivering content to help grow awareness and support for our Ladies football team and our Mens development pathway for underrepresented players who would not have opportunities to play elsewhere. We help gather plenty of digital media to be used as part of the content we wish to produce, with videos of matches and training captured as well as photographs of matches, and are happy to support in new ideas and the purchasing of software licenses to support content creation

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with experience in marketing, particularly social media marketing in any form, whether that be marketing strategy or content creation. We work largely with images and videos, and any experience with using and editing these would be a big help as would experience with photography. We are also looking for an individual who is passionate about our project, whether that be a passion for local sport/football or a passion for community work and equality through our desire to create a high quality and completely accessible experience for underrepresented players and members, particularly Ladies football.

What difference will you make?

We are looking to elevate our social media and marketing to help grow awareness and engagement with specifically our Ladies side, with the difference making more members of the local community of the great work we are doing within grassroots womens football and help attract new members who align with our clubs philosophies. Helping to grow our womens football team would help have a huge impact with the team being the first Ladies side for the large town of Towcester and our club being the only side marketing a complete equal offering for Womens players as Mens players within a club at grassroots level With our current marketing and social media team made up of one volunteer with no experience in the field, experience and knowledge of marketing and social media marketing would help us make a huge difference to our club, with the potential huge for the largest adults club for a town undergoing huge expansion within its local community, and large investment in local facilities opening up the potential for large growth and progression with the football pyramid over the coming seasons off the back of large success in the last few years to get to our current stage of having established the club and its philosophies for equality and volunteering.
