What will you be doing?

The Trustee roles We are seeking two trustees with extensive experience to take up roles within the Quality and Service Delivery Committee, one as the Chair. Ideally, candidates will be locally based with in-depth local knowledge and availability to attend meetings in person. Familiarity with the healthcare and social care systems, particularly Integrated Care Systems (ICS), is highly desirable. The time requirement and flexibility for the Chair role (up to 15 hours per month) favour part-time, semi-retired, or fully retired individuals and candidates should also be capable of coordinating, administering, and chairing meetings effectively. For the non-chair appointment, whilst the time commitment is less (up to 8 hours per month), the appointed individual will have oversight of safeguarding and so exposure or awareness is desirable.  We are looking for individuals who are calm and methodical, solutions-focused with strategic thinking, creative thinkers who bring new ideas to overcome challenges and evolve service delivery, courageous and resilient in the face of challenging market conditions, and possess a continuous improvement mindset.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for new Trustees who have experience of working in or being involved with the health and social care sector. We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may have worked in these sectors or who have experience and knowledge from a role that has had an operational focus within service commissioning, service delivery, strategic development or similar .  Or you may have lived experience relevant to our cause which we view as equally valuable.   Put simply, we are looking for new trustees who have a background of making things work for people, who want to use these skills to help us give these unpaid, often hidden carers the support and voice they deserve.  Committed trustees are vital to the work of our organisation and we look forward to welcoming new trustees onto the board as we continue to grow and develop our services.   As a trustee you will need:

To be passionate about ensuring no unpaid carer is in crisis, isolated or struggling alone To be committed to developing your knowledge and understanding of how Caring Together is run.  To be committed to supporting and promoting Caring Together’s vision and values.  To demonstrate strong leadership skills.  To be an active member of the board, committing the time and insight required

If this is a cause you are keen to support and you are able to commit to preparing for and attending up to six board meetings and 4 committee meetings each year, we would love to hear from you.

What difference will you make?

As a trustee you will:

Change the world for unpaid carers  Help us identify, engage and give a voice to unpaid carers Drive the strategic direction of Caring Together, ensuring we deliver essential support to a growing population .   Make sure the needs of carers are always at the centre of decisions taken by Caring Together.
