Role Summary -

  • Forge and enhance relationships with non-Member States and international organizations, particularly focusing on Asia.
  • Monitor space activities and conduct analytical research to support the International Relations Committee.
  • Develop cooperation themes and coordinate Agency activities in this context.
  • Organize and manage international meetings involving the Agency.

Role Requirements -

  • Master's degree in social sciences (e.g., political sciences, international relations, or economics).
  • Proven experience in international relations, especially with Asian entities.
  • In-depth knowledge of international space developments.
  • Proven ability to network and communicate effectively across international forums.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Autonomous work ethic with a commitment to meeting deadlines.

The Role: As an External Relations Officer in the External Relations Department, you will be reporting to the Head of External Relations Department, Directorate of Strategy, Legal and External Matters. Your tasks and responsibilities will include establishing and developing relations with non-Member States and international organisations and monitoring their space activities. A particular focus on Asia will be expected in this function. You will also be responsible for collecting and distributing relevant information and analysis about non-Member States and international organisations internally and drafting relevant documents for the International Relations Committee. You will propose themes for cooperation with non-Member States and international organisations and coordinate related activities within the Agency. You will also plan and organise international meetings hosted by the Agency or in which the Agency participates.

Job Requirements: You should have a master's in social sciences (such as political sciences, international relations or economics). You should have sound international relations experience in a similar position, in particular with Asia. You should have good knowledge and experience of international space developments and strong ability to establish and develop contacts in international circles. You should have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication (both written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You should have commitment, reliability, and open attitude coupled with autonomy in resolving issues and meeting deadlines. You should have confirmed planning and organisational skills and capacity to efficiently manage multiple tasks in parallel. You should have discretion and integrity.
