What will you be doing?
Arc is a well respected, long-standing Stockport charity which has supported thousands of people over many years. Our structured creative programmes meet the needs of adults and young people at a critical moment in their mental health. Our public-facing work engages people in activities which protect and restore well-being, helping to connect people, reduce isolation and boost confidence. We are lucky to be located in the iconic Hat Works and reach across health and culture in the Borough. Arc is looking for new Trustees to join our Board and work with the team to ensure good governance, robust strategic and financial planning, service user involvement and full charity and company compliance. The Board meets 6 times a year, mostly on Thursday evenings, although there are additional sub committee or working group sessions for those interested. The role of the trustee is an active one in the organisation, getting to know and advocate for the charity and our participants, and in this way it appeals to people wanting to make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

This is an exciting time to join Arc’s Board, with a thriving central location on Stockport’s cultural corridor in the Hat Work Museum and growing recognition of art and health in connecting and supporting communities.
