Financial Controller | Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Role Overview
The Finance Controller will manage the day-to-day activities of the Finance Team and provide strategic input alongside our CFO and Group Finance Director. This role is essential in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Control
- Produce consolidated monthly management accounts under IFRS, including KPIs, accurately and on time.
- Manage the half-year review and year-end process, working closely with external auditors and contributing to Audit Committee papers.
- Maintain a robust accounting control environment, overseeing all balance sheet accounts and reconciliations.
- Ensure tax compliance across all jurisdictions, handling employee, sales, and corporate taxes.
- Oversee global payroll processes, including secondee arrangements, bonus accruals, payments, and share plans administration.
Financial Operations
- Lead the financial operations team, covering Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Control, and Payroll.
- Achieve key KPIs for the team, such as aged debt, unbilled revenue, and trade receivable days.
- Manage treasury operations and cash forecasting, including intercompany settlements and FX risk management.
- Work closely with the Commercial team to ensure compliance with policies.
Process Improvement
- Enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial transaction processing.
- Implement an internal controls testing framework.
Advisor Relationships
- Collaborate with advisors to manage taxation across various jurisdictions.
- Oversee the annual audit process.
Leadership
- Manage the daily operations of the Finance accounting and operations team (a team of 10, based in the UK and the US).
- Support team development to build a highly capable function.
Key Attributes
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in preparing management accounts in a multi-currency environment.
- Expertise in consolidated accounting.
- ACA qualified
- 5+ years experience post qualification
- Proven track record of redesigning processes, often using technology, to enhance finance function performance.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (preferably Netsuite) and strong Excel skills, including financial modelling.
- Strong academic background
- Enthusiasm for being part of an entrepreneurial business.
