The Finance & Data Manager role is a unique opportunity to dive into the weeds of building and scaling a startup. You’ll be working directly with the Founder and CEO (Lulu), supporting and directly contributing to the growth of the business. You’ll be supported to lead in the areas of finance and data management.

✔️ What your new job will be:

Finance

  • You’ll play a critical role in the success of Clothes Doctor. You’ll be responsible for managing the company’s financial resources, ensuring that it has enough money to operate and grow, and mitigating financial risks. Additionally, you’ll work with other departments in the company to ensure that financial goals align with strategic objectives and provide regular financial reports to the CEO and board of directors.
  • Financial planning and strategy are critical elements of the role. Working closely with the CEO, you’ll develop and implement a financial plan that aligns with the company’s strategic objectives while also managing and prioritising spending to achieve those objectives. You’ll consider the necessary resources during the company’s growth stage and build a budget that maps out projected expenses and revenues.
  • Cash flow management will be one of your primary responsibilities. You’ll monitor cash inflows and outflows and ensure that the company has enough cash to meet its obligations. You’ll also manage working capital to ensure that the company has the resources it needs to continue operating.
  • You’ll assess the financial risks that the company faces and develop strategies to mitigate those risks. You’ll also collaborate with other departments to identify and manage the risks that impact the entire organisation, such as supply chain and cybersecurity risks.
  • You’ll liaise with the external accountancy and legal teams where necessary and will manage the company cap table, EMI option scheme, fundraising process and more.

Data Manager

  • You will be responsible for collecting data from various sources, such as customer surveys, website analytics, and social media platforms. You will also be responsible for cleaning and organising this data to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
  • You will be responsible for developing and maintaining databases that store the company's data. This includes designing the database schema, creating queries to retrieve data, and ensuring data integrity.
  • You will analyse company data to identify trends and insights that can inform the company's decision-making process. This includes using statistical analysis and data mining techniques to uncover patterns and relationships in the data.
  • Once you have analysed the data, you will be responsible for creating reports and visualisations to communicate your findings to other teams within the company. This includes creating charts, graphs, and other visual aids that help others understand the data.
  • You will work closely with other teams within the company, such as product development and marketing, to integrate data analysis into their decision-making process. This includes providing insights and recommendations based on your analysis of the data.

  • Versatile problem-solver willing to get your hands dirty
  • Execution focused, takes ownership and loves solving problems.
  • Highly self-directed with an ability to get a lot done with sometimes limited direction
  • Impeccable organisational and analytical skills, with a proven track record of project management duties
  • Extremely confident using Microsoft Excel and Xero, and comfortable learning other data management software without formal training.
