Role Summary:
- Lead the creation of businesses from concept to validation and early growth.
- Utilize commercial acumen and technical proficiency to turn ideas into successful ventures.
- Conduct user interviews, lo-fi testing, and leverage a strong affinity for data and feedback.
- Work closely with the Venture Designer and a team of accomplished entrepreneurs and builders.
- Guide the validation and build process from idea to MVP, focusing on user-centric, impactful, and financially sound solutions.

- Understanding of startup operations and scaling.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

We are recruiting for a Venture Builder to join Nesta’s Mission Studio. Mission Studio is creating the future of mission-driven tech startups. We're tackling the UK's toughest social challenges - from net zero to obesity - by building commercially successful businesses to address them.
As a Venture Builder, you’ll be a driving force of building businesses from idea to validation and early stage growth. You will have the hustle, commercial acumen, and technical skills to transform ideas into thriving businesses. You will also be comfortable doing user interviews and lo-fi testing, and have a love of data and feedback. You get how startups operate and scale from 0 to 1, and have a proven track record of building successful ventures within a venture studio environment.
You will build, test and validate venture designs and concepts as scrappily and speedily as possible, developing strong commercial foundations and working alongside the Venture Designer and wider Mission Studio team of successful entrepreneurs and builders. You will lead the validation and build process from idea to MVP, ensuring our solutions are user-centric, impactful, and commercially viable.
We offer a competitive salary, between £63k - £85k depending on experience, and a benefits package that cares for you beyond the office. You will be based at least 2 days a week at our Thames-side, Blackfriars office in London with the freedom to work remotely on other days.
