SBDC (registered charity number 1137391) is a leading arts charity led by the acclaimed Artistic Director Sujata Banerjee MBE. The organisation has been at the forefront of promoting South Asian culture in the UK by offering opportunities to young people, staging ground-breaking and innovative productions and holding workshops in schools.    It is an exciting time to join SBDC as we enter our 20th year as a registered organisation and the 10th year of our flagship annual festival, Hemantika. We also have an exciting tour to the US planned for 2025.   We are looking to recruit Trustees with a diverse range of skills and experiences to strengthen our combined experience. You will be using your skills to help guide and oversee the charity at a pivotal point in its growth and development.   Successful Trustees will be expected to attend 4 virtual quarterly board meetings with preparation required by reviewing materials and reports beforehand. Trustees will also be invited to represent the charity as ambassadors of the organisation on an ad-hoc basis.    Interested candidates should apply by submitting their CV and a covering letter. For an informal and confidential discussion regarding the role please also contact us via the Reach Volunteering platform.   SBDC is committed to encouraging fairness and diversity and we welcome applications from all candidates who have the vision to grow and develop the company, regardless of abilities, backgrounds or connection to the arts sector.   Please note that this is an unpaid voluntary position with reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses.
