- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards through KYC reviews.
- Develop and manage data protection programs.
- Oversee the group's global insurance program in collaboration with stakeholders and brokers.
- Implement South Pole's Health & Safety program, managing cross-border H&S topics and incident reporting.
- Conduct compliance training to enhance company-wide awareness and practices.
- Stay abreast of legislative updates and integrate best practices into the business.
- Participate in horizon scanning and support compliance-related projects.
- Required: University Degree in law, finance, business administration, or similar.
- At least 5 years of experience in compliance advisory within a risk function, preferably in an international setting.
- Expertise in KYC, AML/ABC, Sanctions, and Financial Crime prevention.
- Ability to interpret regulatory guidance and its business impact.
- Fluent in English, additional languages are a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and a positive attitude.
- Desirable: Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Data Privacy matters.

Job summary:
The Compliance Manager will have a strong generalist experience and be responsible for managing certain aspects of the compliance teamās remit in relation to the group. The role will report to the Global Associate Director of Compliance.Ā
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Perform KYC reviews on South Pole partners to ensure they are in line with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Support with the development and management of a data protection programĀ Ā
- Manage the group insurance program in close collaboration with internal stakeholders (Finance, Risk) and our external insurance brokers globally.Ā
- Manage delivery of South Poleās Health & Safety program and work in close collaboration with relevant personnel (HR, Risk, external in-country H&S consultants) on cross-border H&S topics. Ensuring incidents are actioned appropriately including regulatory reporting requirements (including in relation to data protection and H&S)Ā
- Assisting in organizing and leading training sessions to enhance the compliance awareness and practices of all employees.
- AssistĀ in ensuring the business is up to date on legislation, regulation and best practice.Ā
- Undertake horizon scanning Support the compliance organization with ad-hoc projects and work closely with internal stakeholders on cross-border compliance topics.
Requirements:
Essential -
- A University Degree in law, finance, business administration, or equivalent fields of studiesĀ
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of compliance advisory in a risk function or a risk-focused compliance role in the second line of defense, ideally in an international company with European operationsĀ
- You will possess a high level of technical knowledge in relation to KYC, AML/ABC,Sanctions, Financial Crime prevention, and will maintain a keen eye on industry developments and best practices relevant to partner onboarding, bringing that knowledge back into the team to help drive our improvement agenda.
- Ability to understand important information from regulatory guidance, regulations, audit findings and other documents and determine how this impacts the businessĀ
- Excellent communication skills in English is a must. Any other language is considered a plusĀ
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and positive, 'can do' attitude, willing to take initiativeĀ
- Detail-oriented and capable of working with confidential information
- You're resilient and comfortable working in a fast paced and ambiguous environment where the day to day job is constantly evolving and changingĀ
- Demonstrated ability to think and reason logically
Desirable -Ā
- Working and demonstrable knowledge of the requirements and regulations of Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH certification or equivalent is a plus)Ā
- Working knowledge in Data Privacy matters including management of incidents and reporting
