Role Summary
- Oversee the monthly cost database and ensure alignment with company contracts and reports.
- Coordinate tax preparation activities and liaise with the Statutory Auditor.
- Engage in weekly accounting progress meetings and account reconciliations.
- Handle accounting entries, analysis, and withholdings application.
- Manage and post weekly costs, and oversee the invoicing process.
- Coordinate accounts receivable and payable, following up as necessary.
- Contribute to annual tax schedules and information delivery to control entities.
- Collaborate with the Senior Accountant Specialist on statutory audit requirements.
- Participate in the monthly financial reporting process.
- Adapt to new roles and processes within the finance and administration team as needed.
Role Requirements
- A degree in Public Accounting.
- Experience in accounting operations and control processes.
- Specialization in accounting or tax areas is advantageous.
- Knowledge of IFRS and accounting ERPs.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Job summary:
In this position, you as a local accounting specialist, you will be responsible for assigned duties, as part of the accounting area of which you are a part and under the coordination of the Senior Accountant Specialist, working for the South Pole and also with external stakeholders to ensure that reports are produced in a timely manner.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
- Review and validation of the monthly cost database (Colsales), verifying against AQ contracts and the corresponding delivery and margin report.
- Participation in the preparation of taxes for delivery to the Statutory Auditor, coordinating with the Senior Account Specialist.
- Participation in weekly meetings with the team to review accounting progress, with ongoing reconciliation of the accounting accounts in charge.
- Preparation of accounting entries, recording, analysis and application of withholdings at source.
- Calculation and posting of weekly costs.
- In charge of invoicing to internal and external customers, with compliance with established requirements and permanent follow-up.
- Follow-up of activities and coordination within the accounting team in accordance with assigned functions.
- Follow-up of accounts receivable, coordinating execution with the officer in charge.
- Weekly follow-up of accounts payable, if assigned the function, according to the coordination made by the Senior Accountant Specialist.
- Participation as part of the accounting team in the delivery of information to control entities.
- Annual preparation of the tax due date schedule and information to the control entities.
- Coordination with the Senior Accountant Specialist responsible for accounting of the requirements of the statutory audit, follow-up meetings and presentation of information requested by the different areas.
- Permanent and effective participation in the filling out and delivery of the monthly report, both Gross Profit and monthly report, two days before the due date.
- Assume, if necessary, new responsibilities in the accounting and financial area for the growth of South Pole Colombia, adapting to new processes, responsibilities or other relevant functions for the finance and administration team.
Requirements:
- Completed studies in Public Accounting
- Verified experience in the accounting area, management in operational and control processes, in addition to meeting objectives.
- Specialization in accounting or tax area preferred.
- Up-to-date accounting and tax knowledge, perspectives on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Working knowledge of accounting ERPs.
- Proficient written and oral proficiency in Spanish and English preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel).
- Entrepreneurial attitude, sense of responsibility and willingness to take the initiative.
- Team-oriented with positive attitude, creativity and prudence.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
