Description Public Relations Officer for ESA HQ and the Member States of France, Belgium and Luxembourg, ESA Member States Outreach Office, Outreach Division, Communication Department, Director General's Services. Under the direct authority of the Head of the ESA Member States Outreach Office, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the public relations activities and social media coverage for ESA HQ and the Member States of France, Belgium and Luxembourg in line with the Corporate Communication Policy. You will oversee the outreach activities related to the ESA HQ Astrolabe facility, including the supervision of visits, maintenance and future developments.
Duties Your tasks and responsibilities will include the following: Developing and implementing public relations activities for ESA HQ and France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Managing, in liaison with the Director General and Corporate Social Media Coordination Officer, the digital communication channels targeted at ESA HQ and France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Overseeing, in close coordination with the relevant ESA HQ services (such as Facility Management), the outreach activities linked to the ESA HQ Astrolabe facility. Coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of a global policy and annual plan for the harmonisation and synchronisation of public outreach activities, including the organisation of local communication events and visits (schools and the general public) carried out in the various ESA establishments.
Requirements A master's degree in a relevant domain is required for this post. Planning and organisational skills, problem-solving skills, a result-oriented mindset, and demonstrated competence in one or more of the following disciplines: editing and writing, public relations, event organisation, social media and/or logistics. Proven relationship management and communication skills along with the capacity to work well under pressure with tight deadlines and the flexibility to adapt to new and unforeseen demands as well as to manage challenging situations proactively. Experience in outreach, event management and/or public relations would be an asset. Excellent knowledge of the French language is required.
