  • Role Summary:
    • Design and implement world-class user experiences and interfaces.
    • Work across the full customer journey, focusing on user acquisition, activation, retention, reactivation, and monetisation.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the Consumer tribe and design team.

We recently expanded our library to make over 1 million books affordable for learners, earned a 100% Gold ASPIRE rating for accessibility and reached over 15 million people. The next stage of Perlego is twofold: 1) expand our support to students and publishers globally, and 2) build a product that goes beyond the book, a platform that helps students study smarter and educators teach more effectively.

🔎 What We’re Looking For

A Senior Product Designer with experience designing world-class experiences and beautifully crafted interfaces. You’ll be joining our design team and working on every stage of the design process, from research to delivery. This role is pivotal in driving the growth of our platform by working across the full customer journey with focuses in areas of user acquisition, activation, retention, reactivation, and monetisation.

🤝 How We Work Together

Perlego is organised into cross-functional teams working together on a common domain. Our designers work highly collaboratively with engineers, product managers, and marketers. This role will be embedded in the Consumer (D2C) tribe while also working within the design team, focusing on developing new ways for our product to grow and reach more learners across the globe.

🗝️ Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Consumer Tribe:

  • Deliver delightful experience: Create and foster innovative, memorable and delightful user experiences that drive growth and engagement.
  • Growth-Oriented Design: Approaching work with a focus on quick time to learnings, using a variety of research methods, user testing, and experiments to validate hypotheses & ideas quickly. At times taking an iterative approach to design to optimise key metrics, and at times being innovative with new bold ideas to change the baseline.

Supporting the Design Team:

  • Brand & Design System Contribution: Contribute to and evolve brand guidelines, use and collaborate on design systems (and empower others to use them), create scalable design solutions, ensure cross-platform consistency, and educate/foster systems thinking.
  • Support brand requests: Support the business with answering brand requests, including creating visual assets for go-to-market and marketing needs.

💪 What Success Looks Like for This Role in 6 Months:

In 1 Month: You will know the teams and be collaborating with them on a daily basis and your first design will be in production

In 3 Months: You will have understand thoroughly your assigned domain.

In 6 Months: You will confidently lead design initiatives within your domain, demonstrating measurable impact on our users and business growth.

  • Creativity: Possess strong creative thinking and visual skills, with a keen eye for detail, quality, and innovation. Demonstrate an ability to deliver highly creative solutions.
  • Emotional Design: Have a mindset for emotional design to foster connections to our brand, increase usability, and build a strong brand personality throughout the product experience.
  • Collaboration: Thrive in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional peers including engineers, product managers and marketers.
  • Fast-Pace: Thrive in a fast-paced environment.

⭐️ Additional Skills and Experience we’d be interested in:

While not required, experience in the following areas would be beneficial. Don’t worry if you don’t have experience in all of them—our team is here to support, and there are opportunities for learning:

  • Passion for Learning: A passion for education, books, reading, and always learning new things.
  • User Research Participation: Participate in and/or lead user research activities.
  • Workshop Facilitation Skills: It's a plus if you can facilitate design workshops as needed.
  • Accessible Design: Knowledge of accessible design principles and experience in creating inclusive user experiences.
  • Growth Design Knowledge: Have some understanding of growth design principles, user psychology and business metrics.
  • Analytics fundamentals: Understand the basics of A/B testing and data analysis and how they can be used to validate design assumptions, and iteratively improve designs.
  • Marketing Campaign Experience: Experience with leading creative on social media or marketing campaigns.
