We are looking to expand our team and are seeking to employ someone who can not only do ‘The Job’ but questions it and then seeks to improve it.

We are currently seeking a Sustainability Advisor to join our growing team.

Aim of the Role

As a Sustainability Advisor, you will:

·       Play a crucial role in driving climate action by building strong partnerships with customers and promoting our sustainable solutions

·       Collaborate with various teams to develop market-specific sales strategies and go-to-market propositions that attract and secure customers

·       Consult with prospects (the majority of which have limited understanding of the solutions we are proposing) to develop strategies and programmes, that generate business value and align with their sustainability goals

·       Work closely with internal teams to scope tailored climate solutions

·       Support the strengthening of relationships with existing customers, alongside our Customer Experience team, who are interested in enhancing their climate/sustainability action

·       Stay updated on the latest trends and opportunities in environmental and social sustainability markets to deliver impactful solutions

·       Supporting the creation of detailed plans for effective delivery

·       Achieving revenue targets

Duties

·       Lead conversion

o  Build brand awareness amongst your own network utilising tools in LinkedIn, etc

o  Convert leads who will come from Brand-led activities, inbound enquiries and commercial partnerships

·       Build relationships

o  Develop strategic relationships with leads, prospects and customers to maximise customer revenue, retention and the amount of impact we provide

·       Proposal generation/management

o  Meet with prospects (almost always remotely) to understand their requirements, budget, timescales, and other initial details

o  Scope the technical approach to deliver a prospect’s requirements, working for consultants on technical details if needed

o  Price that approach, with options if needed, using our pricing calculator by assigning tasks and hours to various consultant grades

o  Create and issue high-quality proposal/contract documents to detail our approach and the related fees

·       Closing opportunities

o  Nurture, negotiate and close new business opportunities as part of managing your pipeline

  • Manage handover of won projects and relationships to the PMO & Consultancy team including providing background information from sales calls/emails, more detail on scope/pricing approach and any risks, opportunities or challenges.
  • Monitor feedback or reasons for lost work and implement/make suggestions for improvements to our services, processes, pricing, etc. as well as your own commercial approach

·       Record keeping

o  Maintain excellent records in our CRM

o  Monitor commercial metrics against targets, and report in other internal systems

·       Manage sales funnels

o  Alongside our marketing team, oversee delivery of sales aligned to developed sales strategies and be able to forecast current and future sales for specific services/sectors

·       Personal development

o  Identify opportunities for personal and professional development through education, networking, events and presentations both internally and externally

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

·       Sustainability experience– professional experience and interest in environmental and/or social sustainability and a passion for sharing that with our leads and customers

·       Organisational skills – able to plan and manage resources, prioritise your workload and keep good records

·       Communication skills – able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, both written and verbally, and able to work in a collaborative team environment, which includes discussions around creative reviews, giving and receiving constructive feedback to and from fellow team members and customers

Desirable Attributes

·       Sustainability consultancy experience – experience working in or with sustainability consultancies delivering strategic advice in environmental and/or social areas.

·       Business development interest – an interest to apply sustainability knowledge and experience when identifying sales opportunities, nurturing prospects and delivering agreed sales results

·       CRM management – able to create, edit and manage records within a CRM aligned to agreed processes

·       Presentation skills – able to present effectively to leads, customers and internal teams with a high-level technical lens
