As a Marketing and Social Media Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive support across various marketing functions, with a strong focus on social media management and content creation. This position offers opportunities for personal and professional growth within the realms of digital marketing, social media strategies, content development, and brand promotion. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including planning and implementing marketing campaigns, managing social media presence, creating engaging content, conducting market research, and analyzing performance metrics.The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK runs over a period of 16 weeks, is UNPAID and requires a minimum of 12 hours of commitment per week across Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday. Upon successful application, our HR team will contact you to arrange an interview. Following a successful interview, we'll initiate the onboarding process by sending you the necessary documents. Once your onboarding and identification documents are received and verified, you'll be invited to a 6-hour HR and System Induction. Subsequently, you'll meet with your Head of Department or Assistant Manager for your First Day.
What are we looking for?
Main responsabilities:
Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and campaigns across various channels, including social media, websites, and email marketing. Manage and oversee the organization's social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), ensuring consistent branding and a strong online presence. Create and curate engaging content (text, graphics, videos) for social media, websites, blogs, and other digital platforms, aligning with the organization's brand voice and aesthetic. Conduct market research, and analyze data from surveys, social media analytics, and website metrics to understand target audiences, identify trends, and measure campaign effectiveness. Develop and implement content marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, drive website traffic, and engage with target audiences. Collaborate with cross-functional teams ( PR,) to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment across all marketing efforts. Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages promptly, and escalate issues as necessary. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates on marketing communications and social media performance. Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry, report compilation, and file management, as required.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail. In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) and best practices for effective utilization. Experience in developing and executing social media strategies to support organizational goals and objectives. Proficiency in creating visually appealing and engaging digital content Familiarity with analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to inform marketing decisions. Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational skills. Problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative mindset. Teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets). Knowledge of graphic design software (e.g., Canva) and social media scheduling tools (e.g., Buffer) is a plus. Commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
