Organisation Summary

Join our team at a pioneering health and wellness brand known for premium supplements and a commitment to women's health. Based in Brighton, we offer a vibrant, supportive environment led by a female founder since 2013. Our products, including top-tier omega-3, collagen, and vitamin D, are featured in renowned retailers, but our heart lies in direct-to-consumer relationships.

Role Summary

  • Create and publish exceptional social content across multiple platforms.
  • Engage with online communities and manage influencer relationships.
  • Collaborate on brand campaigns and content creation.
  • Analyze social media performance and influence PR strategy.
  • Build our Founder’s profile and strengthen media connections.

Role Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in social media and communications, preferably in related fields.
  • Proven success in growing engaged online communities.
  • Excellent project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong media relations, networking, and analytical skills.
  • A proactive, learning-focused attitude with excellent writing skills.
  • Understanding of SEO and content marketing is a plus.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity for rapid learning and career development.
  • Flexible work-from-home options and core office hours.
  • Discretionary bonus scheme, pension contributions, and product benefits.
  • Emphasis on work-life balance and mental health.
  • 20 days of holiday, plus bank holidays and additional perks.

Are you super-smart, insanely organised, curious and relentless about building super-engaged communities? Would you like to join a fast-growing, independent, women-led health and wellness brand based in Brighton, where you would have total autonomy to own two of our most important (& free!) brand-building channels? In a business where social media & PR exist to tell diverse, effective and unforgettable stories to our consumers. Have you been looking for a new, meaty challenge? Do you feel excited at the prospect of putting your own stamp on this role? Have we said enough?

If you tick all of these boxes, we’d love to hear from you.

  • A social native. You’re obsessed with the ever-changing social landscape. You manage, implement and optimise the most effective cross-platform social content. And you’ve done this successfully for other consumer brands.
  • You dream about GaryVee. That’s probably a bit far. But you’ve read all of his books or watched his YouTube content (maybe twice). And you subscribe to his belief that social strategy needs to be varied across each platform. And that everything you post needs to add value to consumers' lives.
  • A community builder. You’re incredibly proud of your track record to scale and grow communities. You’ve built up a network of influencers you can call upon, and you know how to get the attention of editors and journalists.
  • Customer-centric: You know the customer, understand the audience, and get that people are bombarded with messages and lead very busy lives. You can help us cut through all that.
  • A growth mindset (not in the tech-bro sort of way). For us, this means you’re always learning. You understand that nothing is static, and everything develops and changes. You dare to try new things, fail and try again. You don’t ever want to be behind. You want to be ahead.
  • A multi-tasking whizz. You can handle multiple tasks at once. In fact, you thrive when you have a meaty to-do list. And importantly, you can keep calm under pressure.
  • You’re a brilliant communicator. You’re very strong at verbal and written communication. You’ve got experience talking directly to customers via social platforms. And you have experience talking to influencers and journalists via email and at events.

The outcomes we’re looking for

Social Media management

  • Create, schedule and publish world-class social content across all our platforms.
  • Work with content creators to develop platform-specific, social-first content.
  • Monitor and engage with our social media channels – including comments, messages, and mentions – to build and nurture our community.
  • Manage our scheduling and analytics platform (Dash Hudson).
  • Manage and organise all influencer gifting.
  • Work with the team to deliver brand campaigns throughout the year.
  • Work with our Content Creator to plan and organise static and video shoots.
  • Analyse and report on performance and present back to the senior management team. Test, learn and evolve content based on learnings.
  • Increase engagement, reach and overall number of followers across platforms.
  • Stay ahead of algorithm changes and integrate trends into our content where necessary.

Influencer management

  • Manage, plan and negotiate campaigns with influencers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, journalists, nutritionists and other influential people to expand our community.
  • Develop and maintain a system and database of contacts

PR management

  • Work with our Senior Management to execute our PR plan including managing media requests, sending pitches to journalists, managing our database and coordinating gifts.
  • Monitor and manage PR results.
  • Increase coverage and meaningful mentions across consumer and B2B media.
  • Build relationships with influential journalists, editors and experts.
  • Help to build our Founder’s profile.

Your provable* skills and experience

  • Proven experience (4+ years) in a social media and comms role. It would be wonderful if that was in health and wellness, but beauty, food, and fitness are also good.
  • A track record of building and growing engaged communities.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong media relations and networking abilities.
  • Data-driven mindset with a passion for tracking, testing, and continuously improving social performance.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • A proactive & reactive mindset.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated and a problem solver.
  • A strong writer and can communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

  • A degree and strong A levels.
  • A passion for health, wellness, and nutrition.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and content marketing strategies.

* We will ask you for concrete examples in detail.

Our story

You’ll get a lot from looking at our website and Instagram. But, in summary, we’re a team of (90%) women, led by a female founder, and we’ve been around since 2013. We were doing luxury, high-quality health supplements way before the market exploded. We’re famous for the best omega-3, and we also have insanely good collagen and vitamin D. We’re all about women’s health, so if that’s not your thing, you’d probably struggle to fit in. We don’t have investors. We don’t plan to sell. We have huge dreams, and we’re going places. We’re stocked in the likes of Selfridges, Whole Foods and Planet Organic, but our core business is D2C. That’s because we love having a relationship with our customers (that’s where you come in).

What we offer you

  • This is a unique opportunity to learn quickly in an environment that will support you while giving you the freedom to shape your role and your career development, while shaping the future of the business as part of the team. Your success is our success. We’ll give you development opportunities to learn and get promoted.
  • You can work from home up to 3 days a week. The other 2 days will be spent in our office in the lovely South Lanes area of Brighton. Outside of that, you can use the office as much (or as little) as you like.
  • Your core office hours would be 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
  • We run a discretionary bonus scheme. We reward people for their hard work, performance and contribution to business growth.
  • You’ll get 20 days of holiday and 8 bank holiday days. We also give you your birthday off and we close between Christmas and New Year.
  • We’ll contribute 3% to your pension.
  • We want you to reap the benefits of our products, so you’ll get free products for personal use.
  • The chance to work with an awesome, hard-working team that wants to enjoy work and each other's company. Mental health and work-life balance are taken as seriously as they should be. We’re a young group, very sociable (lots of opportunities to socialise plus fab summer and Christmas parties), and we genuinely care about each other.

The interview process

  • If we think you'll be a good fit for the role, we'll arrange an initial 30 minute call to find out more about your experience and, importantly, if you're a fit for the role. We'll also give you the chance to ask a few questions, too. After this first call we'll make a decision to take you to the next stage. We get a huge number of applications and do lots of first stage interviews – please don't take it personally if we don't take you beyond this point.
  • The second interview will be an in person interview with the hiring manager and founder. We'll ask you to complete a task to present at this interview.
  • If you're successful, the final interview will be another interview with a few other key members of our team.
