Role Description
- Role Title: Social Content Creator & Manager
- Role Report: Head of Marketing and Community, Senior Design and Content Creator, and Director
- Location: Primarily co-working in London - remote working from time to time.
- Background: Social media channel management (IG, TikTok, YT), video and graphic content creation, community management. An interest and understanding of nature, biodiversity and the ecosystem restoration movement.
- Remuneration: £110-£130 per day, dependent on experience
- Start: End of January 2025
- Contract: Initial part-time (2-3 days per week) 6-month freelance contract with the opportunity to continue working with us and becoming a full time employee on PAYE.

Earthed's on-demand video classes are taught by some of the world's best food growers, biodiversity builders, restorers and environmental protectors. They teach nature skills such as composting, growing food, restoring rivers and coral reef restoration. By 2032, Earthed aims to have enabled millions of people to participate in the global ecosystem restoration movement. We leverage the knowledge economy to enable grass-roots ecosystem restoration projects.
About the role:
The Social Content Creator & Manager will play a key role in driving our social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. You will be responsible for co-developing and executing content strategies that are engaging, evocative, and aligned with Earthed’s mission.
With a passion for storytelling and an understanding of the power of social media, you will craft narratives that showcase nature, biodiversity, food-growing, and our impactful courses. You will combine creativity, strategy, and data-driven insights to inspire and excite our audience.
This role will also be instrumental in the development of a thriving digital community through social media channels and Earthed’s community platform. Content management is key - ensuring the strategic distribution of content in line with the marketing strategy, using social planning software, whilst cultivating community engagement and fostering conversation.
All Earthed roles require a can-do, roll your sleeves up attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively with a small but mighty team. Therefore good organisation, time management and communication is essential.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in social media management and content creation.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and their respective audiences.
- A creative mindset with a focus on storytelling and innovative strategies.
- Ability to produce high-quality visual content (photos, videos, graphics) that aligns with a brand’s identity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a responsive approach to community management.
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools to measure performance and extract actionable insights.
- Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar content creation platforms.
- Experience with social media scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Hootsuite).
- Strong ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team environment.
- Passion for and understanding of nature, biodiversity, and ecosystem restoration is a big plus.
Core Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Creation:
- Develop and implement content strategies that drive engagement and showcase Earthed’s offerings.
- Create visually appealing and compelling short-form and long-form content for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
- Produce high-quality video, photo, and graphic content that resonates with our audience and communicates our mission effectively.
Social Media Management:
- Manage day-to-day operations of Earthed’s social media platforms, ensuring consistent posting and content alignment with campaigns and brand goals.
- Stay up-to-date with platform algorithms, trends, and best practices to optimize performance.
- Schedule and publish content using tools like Buffer, Later, or similar platforms.
- Community Engagement:
- Monitor, respond to, and engage with our online community to build relationships and drive loyalty.
- Proactively foster positive interactions, ensuring the audience feels heard and valued.
Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- Use social media analytics tools to track performance metrics, identify insights, and inform future content strategies.
- Prepare regular performance reports, sharing key learnings and recommendations for growth.
Collaboration & Innovation:
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and Community to align content with campaigns, upcoming launches, and brand objectives.
- Share creative ideas and propose new strategies backed by data and trends.
- Continuously research evolving digital trends to keep Earthed’s content fresh, relevant, and engaging.

You’re a social media native, a creator and storyteller. You understand the latest social media trends, and get a kick out of cultivating community engagement. You have a keen eye for aesthetics and can turn ideas into engaging content. You’re passionate about the natural world, understand the fundamentals of the environmental crisis, how nature restoration can heal the world, and have the strategic mindset to storytell and build an understanding for audiences via Earthed’s digital presence.
