The one year programme provides an opportunity to roll onto a permanent job at Rare for successful candidates.

Main responsibilities:

  • Be the main point of contact for student queries relating to our software
  • Help test our products before feature releases, find and report bugs and help to iterate solutions with our developers
  • Configure product builds for our clients
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
  • Help develop simple, intuitive and effective software solutions
  • Assess current competitor offerings, seeking opportunities for differentiation
  • Client onboarding

About the Product Team

This is an unusual opportunity to join a fast-growing diversity technology company as it builds out its digital products working on exciting, innovative software that is changing access to the elite professions. You will be at the heart of Rare’s digital team learning from experts and engaging with cutting edge technologies.

The Product Management team is responsible for bringing new products to market and enhancing existing ones. We work with cross-functional teams to ensure that our software products meet customer needs and achieve Rare’s objectives. This team adds value to Rare by aligning products with customer needs and market trends, leading to increased revenue, customer satisfaction, and retention. It also plays a key role in defining the long-term direction of the business and identifying growth opportunities.

About You

The key to succeed in this role is to be highly conscientious with high personal standards of integrity and organisation.You must also be a skilled communicator.

We are looking for someone with the ability to:

  • Understand Rare’s social purpose and share our values
  • Be keen to learn – you will need to understand our software and services, and the needs of our clients and candidates
  • Have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Be flexible - the needs of the business change rapidly
  • Be resilient and take feedback well
  • Be highly intelligent – both academically and interpersonally

Experience and education requirements for the role:

  • A university degree of at least a 2:1 in any subject. (essential)
  • At least 3As at A level or equivalent. (essential)
  • Excellent writing skills. (essential)
  • Excellent Excel skills. (essential)
  • Work experience of almost any kind is valuable, especially if it involves customer or client-facing work. (desirable)
