In Summary...
We’re looking for someone who understands how to use organic social media to
drive brand health.
The challenge is to connect consumers with smol’s mission, telling compelling
stories in ways distinctive to smol. We want you to help us demonstrate the
challenger brand we are, to inspire informed consumer choices- the smol yet
powerful wins of choosing smol. We set a high bar in terms of the quality of our
strategy and content- we want to be best in class.
The role is both strategic and executional. End to end responsibility and
achievement. We need someonewhounderstandshowtogetthebestoutof
social platforms and Sprout; someone customer-centric and confident analysing
results; someone brimming with creative inspiration on how to interest our target
audience. This is across everything proactive and reactive on socials, as this role
will lead and line-manage our in-house team of community managers- engaging
and fostering conversation with communities.
What does the role involve?...
Strategy Development:
Create and implement social media strategies for smol UK, aligned with overall marketing and business objectives to increase brand awareness and perception
Work with our performance marketing team to manage and evolve an investment strategy for organic
Content Creation & Curation:
Plan creative social schedules that resonate with our key audience, leverage social platform algorithms, and achieve our marketing/ business objectives.
Lead planning across all platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Tiktok (ownership of LinkedIn to be discussed), working with our Comms Planner to blend specific proactive, hero campaigns with “always on” messaging and reactive content.
Work closely with our France and Germany content managers to develop cross-country campaigns where appropriate.
Work with our innovative in-house creative team, as well as willing-colleagues and yourself, to produce content.
Uploading and scheduling all social media posts, including building content natively in each app where necessary.
Attending events or activations on evenings or weekends, or posting outside of core hours when needed.
Building strong relationships with other like-minded brands to partner with on social, including active participation in the B Corp community.
Constantly look at other brands on organic, checking out who is smashing it, learning from others and optimising our work
Community Management:
Leading our in-house team of Community Managers (2.5 FTE) to engage, help, educate and amuse our audiences with their thorough understanding of smol products, the brand, and the user experience.
Covering our community managers when needed on occasional days, evening and weekends.
Analytics & Reporting:
Measuring channel and campaign effectiveness, using learnings to inspire content ideation that will continue to grow our reach and engagement
Reporting on social insights and our brands-of-interest, continually feeding into the wider team and business
You will need/be...
Specific experience running and growing social media channels, with proven results and able to demonstrate capabilities in social media strategy, content planning and delivery.
Proven experience in line management, overseeing and developing high performing teams.
A lover of brands-be really clear on how brand positioning, tone etc impact on social media content.
Confident in how the algorithms work and know how to get the best organic results. All over upcoming trends and themes we should be jumping on, understanding constraints and benefits of each platform, constantly adapting our social media strategy for max. impact and ROI.
Hands on and technically confident with using social media analytics and reporting tools to analyse channel and campaign performance, to drive
actionable insights and optimisation (we are signed up to Sprout).
A creative eye and experience capturing content for social media, and a whizz at building content in-app.
Happy to put your face on camera, to show the human side of our business.
Understand paid/performance marketing and how it optimises with organic.
Work quickly, efficiently, a real “can do” way of working.
A real team player and you need to be comfortable working in a remote team

The smol print
Applicants must have current work authorisation in the UK.
The role is remote / home working but will involve regular travel to meet up with team members and for photoshoots, so ability to travel to London and South-East is a must have.
