✨ We are making the mundane magical ✨
Lollipop is building the best shopping & cooking experience in the world. We want to help busy families and those overwhelmed by the pressures of daily life ultimately enjoy this chore.
Our diverse founding team of 15 have built businesses such as Monzo, Amazon, Curve and our backers have scaled companies like Ocado, Innocent, Babylon and Deliveroo. We know what it takes to build products enjoyed by millions of people across the world.
To achieve this mission, we need to build a world class people function so that we can find, grow and support our team. This is where you come in.
🤩 The role
As our very first dedicated people hire you will be responsible for all day-to-day people activities, designing and executing our people strategy. We need your help making sure our people operations and general company operations run seamlessly. We have just found our new Lollipop HQ and need your help making it our new home.
💪 The opportunity & what you’ll own
Whilst Lollipop is a start up in every sense of the word, and while we still only have a very small team, we know the importance of hiring an experienced people operations person to shape our employee experiences and culture early on.
This opportunity is rare. You’ll be joining a startup from the very beginning, reporting into our CEO Tom and working closely with the founders, every member of the team to design, shape and embed your dream people operations function from the ground up. You will also work with our awesome accountants to keep our finance function running smoothly.
We can promise you that no two days will be the same but to give you a flavour of the work, here are our key people priorities right now:
- Building an onboarding experience that people tell their family and friends about: Create a delightful and useful onboarding programme that fully integrates new employees into Lollipop, making sure new team members get up and running as fast as possible and consequently engaged and retained for longer.
- Designing our employee value proposition so it’s a no brainer to join and stay at Lollipop: Create retention and attraction strategies centred around each touch point of our team members journey including (but not limited to...) learning and development, compensation, performance management and support systems.
- Supporting everyone at Lollipop to build a company that makes us better humans: Align culture with strategy to make sure Lollipops culture ripples through every touch point of an employees experience. This will include creating employee recognition programmes, social activities, diversity and inclusion strategies, employer brand activities.
- Making sure all the important stuff happens behind the scenes: Be in control of everything from a legal and compliance perspective including the administration of payroll and the creation of policies and procedures. This also includes owning our share option programme (check out our transparent salary calculator here) We need you to be excited about automating these tasks and creating self serve tools so that you build a function that scales.
- Building a data driven people function: One of our operating principles is data over debate. To make sure the business can make data driven decisions in every function, we need you to be able to create and maintain KPIs, operational people metrics and dashboards to keep a pulse on our employees experiences.
