Who we are:

After getting into growing veg on our balcony in lockdown, we set up Pot Gang to make it possible for anyone to grow-their-own. We realised there are loads of people out there who love the idea of growing veg and herbs from home - but don’t know where to start and don’t get much help from existing gardening brands.

Our core D2C offering is a monthly subscription box, containing three types of veg and herb seed, with all the pots, compost and step-by-step guidance needed to grow them successfully.

However, since then, we’ve realised there’s also a key opportunity in providing our kits in bulk to a variety of industries and clients. There are so many people and places that could benefit from learning to grow veg and herbs - and we’ve already had strong success here too.

Across our D2C and B2B offerings, we’ve got nearly 30,000 people growing veg and herbs since August 2020. We’ve also been named The Sunday Times Best Gardening Subscription and have a 5 star rating on Google from our customers.

What we’re looking for:

We need an ambitious, experienced sales person to lead the bulk side of our business. So far, we’ve grown our B2B client base in a scrappy, opportunistic way without much structure. We’re looking for an experienced all-rounder to both create a long-term sales plan and secure high-value bulk deals themselves.

They must have the experience to build a sales process from scratch, setting up target lists, propositions, tools and forecasts.

At the same time, they must also have the hunger, resilience and skill to secure highly profitable, long-term relationships with bulk partners.

With time, the role will expand to managing a sales team to execute the sales plan at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding our growth targets and building a sales process that creates a path to achieving them.
  • Setting KPIs to track the profitability and sustainability of our growth.
  • Identifying targets, both at industry and individual level, and prioritising them in order to best achieve our growth targets.
  • Building relationships with the gatekeepers to each bulk opportunity.
  • Understanding their needs and working with us to develop our bulk product offering.
  • Securing deals with bulk partners.
  • Working with us to set up the necessary sales tools.
  • Over time, managing a sales team to follow the plan they’ve built. 

Key Experiences:

  • 4+ years in Sales.
  • An entrepreneurial hard worker with a passion for what we’re trying to achieve.
  • A record of significantly growing the B2B sales side of a small business.
  • Key involvement in putting in place a sales plan, establishing processes and selling successfully.
  • Ideally someone who has sold to a variety of industries, requiring lots of listening and varied approaches for each type of client.
  • Someone with clear ‘get up and go ‘ and comfort in an unstructured environment. Although we will be there for constant support, they will need to thrive with autonomy and responsibility, making things happen on their own.
  • Technical expertise in sales software and forecasting.
  • Experience building and managing a junior sales team.
