CDP are further developing their Data Governance Framework to manage the way we collect, use, and share data throughout the organisation. The Head of Data Governance and Quality role will be leading this throughout CDP and be responsible for developing the data quality framework with policies and standards. In addition, the role will enforce and automate data quality monitoring and assurance with emphasis on improving the completeness and accuracy of the information we use to ensure one version of the truth. This role is responsible for governance of all data at CDP, including disclosure data, personal data, and 3rd party data used by CDP.

Job Purpose and Background
The Data & Insight department’s primary remit is to improve the usability of the climate change, water, forests, and cities data disclosed to CDP through robust and transparent methods. The team will create sustainable data pipelines for data quality monitoring, data cleaning, reporting and data science modelling.Harmonised data collected from external sources will enrich the data assets’ value and enhance accessibility for CDP’s stakeholders. The team will produce value-adding insight delivering it through data products that help internal and external stakeholders to better understand the quantitative and qualitative results of their actions. This in turn helps stakeholders to make data-led decisions and optimise for all constraints. Through every stage the data assets are governed by the industry practice standards in a robust and transparent manner.
Head of Data Governance and Quality role offers an excitingopportunity for a candidate with strong data skills and experience indata governance. Experience of driving data quality improvementprograms, data mapping / data migration, data profiling, and datamanagement projects are also key. Data skills will be accompanied by anability to communicate persuasively and effectively at all levels withinCDP. The Head of Data Governance and Quality will define data elementsand establishes policies and procedures related to the collection andaccuracy of data.
This varied role requires stakeholder management, planning, drivingissues to resolution and people skills. You will work as a specialist,liaising with the technology team and collaborating with internal datastakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:Â
Further implement and communicate the data governance Framework within CDP.- Review the business processes and workflows needed for strengthening data management and play a major role in identifying, cleaning, and assuring the data.
- Ensure that CDP data processes and activity are clearly documented, understood, and communicated to international stakeholders.
- Define Maps and definitions of the data assets across CDP.
- Creation and management of Meta data dictionary
- Ensure consistent and complete data monitoring and evaluation of quality against agreed standards.
- Providing training and support for CDP data users.
- Ensuring compliance of CDP data with regulations.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for Stakeholders to monitor data quality.
Required skills and experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in data quality and governance
- Good communication skills in English.
- Experience of SQL (or T-SQL).
- Strong numeracy and good statistical skills
- Analytical and keen attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience of working with CRM systems.
Desired skills and experience:
- Data visualization skills using Power BI or similar tools.
- Knowledge of the financial system and capital markets.
- A good understanding of GHG accounting methods and sustainability data.
- An awareness of environmental issues, particularly as they relate to our core themes of Climate Change, Deforestation and Water Security.
This is a full-time role based at CDP’s London office reporting to the Global Director, Data & Insight.
Salary and benefits: £75,000 - £80,000per annum,30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits.
