  • Provide comprehensive administrative and editorial support for the business list within the Special Interest division.
  • Work closely with the Publisher, Commissioning Editor, and Senior Editor to manage the publication process for both print and digital products.
  • Coordinate with authors to ensure timely delivery of typescripts and prepare these for production.
  • Handle the submission and review of proposals and draft typescripts.
  • Manage backlist titles and undertake various administrative duties as required.
  • Demonstrated exceptional organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong project management abilities and the capacity to multi-task efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with proficiency in written and verbal English.
  • Keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Independent worker with strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to take initiative.
  • Team-oriented with a confident, enthusiastic, and committed attitude.
  • Customer-focused with a willingness to follow internal procedures.
  • Quick learner, adaptable to new systems and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with some publishing industry knowledge preferred.
  • Prior publishing experience and familiarity with Biblio are advantageous.
  • Interest in film and media is beneficial.

The Organisation - Bloomsbury Publishing Plc Bloomsbury Publishing Plc is a leading international publisher with strengths in trade, children’s, special interest, professional and academic publishing, both digitally and in print. We are currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and hardworking Editorial Assistant to provide administrative and editorial support for our business list, under the Bloomsbury Business imprint. The role is within the Special Interest division. This is an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about a broad range of activities across the publishing business, particularly in relation to the business and leadership arena, and develop the key skills required for a career in publishing. The successful candidate will join a friendly team based in our central London offices.

The Role To assist the Publisher, the Commissioning Editor and the Senior Editor in the effective management of print and digital products throughout the publication process. This includes liaising with authors to ensure typescripts are delivered on time, preparing typescripts for production, sending proposals and draft typescripts for review, managing backlist titles, and other administrative duties.
