Role Summary

  • Lead government engagement operations in Tanzania for One Acre Fund

  • Enhance collaboration with external agencies

Role Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in government or external relations or policy advocacy within Tanzanian context
  • In-depth understanding of Tanzanian government structures and political processes
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations or a related field
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Kiswahili

About One Acre Fund Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund supplies 1 million smallholder farmers with the agricultural services they need to make their farms vastly more productive. Our 8,000+ team is drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. With operations across six core countries in Africa, we make farmers more prosperous by providing quality farm supplies on credit, delivered within walking distance of farmers’ homes, and agricultural training to improve harvests.

The Role You will lead One Acre Fund’s government engagement in Tanzania, forging strategic partnerships with senior government and political leaders to achieve the country vision of serving smallholder farmers. By shaping and advocating for farmer-friendly policies, you will identify growth opportunities and mitigate regulatory risks, improve collaboration with external agencies, and ensure a culture of compliance.

Job requirements 4+ years’ experience in government or external relations, policy advocacy, or related fields, within the Tanzanian context. In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian government structures, regulations, and political processes. Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, International Relations or a related field. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is required.
