Battersea Spanish started in the living room like a dream, a hunch that things in the field of Spanish teaching and learning could be different: lighter, warmer, funnier and more effective. The five initial students that learned their first Spanish words with us have four years later become a thriving community of over 500 students per year.
We have transitioned from a Spanish school for adults (and children as well) to a Spanish Cultural hub, offering also Dance Lessons in Salsa, Tango and Flamenco; Creative Writing Workshops for Spanish native speakers; and an ever-growing offering of events in the fields of film, literature, food, wine, travel and more! We are also very grateful for having won the award for ‘Best Spanish School in London‘ by the Latin UK Awards. A recognition that made us proud of having followed that hunch, that dream.
Spanish lessons at Battersea Spanish are fun and dynamic, and the language is put into practice at every moment. We also provide tailored homework so that students can consolidate their knowledge outside of class. We don’t believe in following impersonal books, as each person, each group, has a different dynamic and profile and we tailor our materials to this. We choose our materials from the best available sources and we create a lot as well, so you know you will be getting something unique!
We also organise monthly social and cultural events with themes related to Spain and Latin America, so that our students, their friends and family, and anyone interested in everything Spanish, can enjoy a slice of these countries in London. We have organised a Peruvian night with delicious pop up Peruvian food, an Argentinian with tango, as well as visits to museums and Latin and Spanish art festivals, among some examples.
