The Oxfordshire Discovery College’s purpose is to help children and young people (aged 4 - 25) and their friends and families (parents/ carers, siblings etc.) who are at risk of experiencing or being affected by mental distress and disorder. Our service is to support these beneficiaries to learn about their emotions and learn coping skills or self-help strategies to help them through their difficulties. Our help matters because mental health services throughout the UK are struggling immensely. The government frequently promise extra funding; however, there is still a great need for young people’s support on the ground. This is where the Oxfordshire Discovery College fits in: we help young people of the county through our interventions. Young people are falling through the gaps. This is why our help matters.
