Careers at Rare Tea Company Ltd

We personally source all our tea direct from the field; from the Shire Highlands of Malawi to the foothills of the Himalayas and the rolling Waikato hills of New Zealand. By sourcing direct from the farms, we are able to secure rare and unique harvests. All our teas and herbs are free from plastics, flavourings or chemicals – just pure, loose-leaf of the highest quality to enhance the wellbeing and delight of our customers.

Close relationships enable us to ensure that our partner farms are only crafting tea using sustainable practices to benefit of both the land and the people who live on it to thrive. We are wholly committed to work with farmers whose ambition is to work beyond organic and sustainable agricultural practices to a regenerative future.

Direct Trade ensures that the value goes to the people who craft our tea, not brokers and middle men.

In 2017 our founder Henrietta Lovell set up Rare Charity. We donate a percentage of all our revenue to Rare Charity supporting educational scholarships in tea communities. We believe that together we can make the world a little bit better..

From humble beginnings with just a handful of devoted customers, we now collaborate with many of the world finest chefs and restaurants, including noma in Copenhagen, Stone Barns in New York, Meadowood and Benu in California to The Balmoral and Claridge’s in the UK. Rare Tea Company retails globally from London to Tokyo and China.

With the support of our collaborators, friends and customers across the world- a mixture of chefs and sommeliers, builders, tattoo artists, taxi drivers and duchesses – we have been able to grow Rare Tea Company into a global business championing tea makers, respecting traditions and driving changes that will enrich all our lives from garden to cup.
