History
Ambitious Impact (AIM) grew out of our flagship Charity Entrepreneurship program which provides exceptional people with the training, funding, and research to improve lives at scale. Since 2018, we have incubated more than 40 charities, providing talented founders with evidence-based intervention ideas, ongoing mentorship, and seed funding. Together, they are estimated to improve the lives of more than 35 million people and 1 billion animals worldwide. Today
AIM’s work is growing. In 2022, we piloted and built out our AIM Impactful Grantmaking Program, helping funders set up their grantmaking for maximum impact and coordinate in cause area-specific funding circles for early and mid-size charities. In 2023, we started running our AIM Research Training Program to upskill nonprofit researchers and create research outputs to be used in our other programs.
In 2025, we will run our AIM Founding to Give Program for the first time, helping talented founders start high-growth businesses that can direct some of their profits to funding high-impact work. Having grown to a staff size of 19, we still aim to do whatever we expect to be the most impactful, most cost-effective thing for us to do next within the philanthropic space. Our Culture
AIM is a dedicated but informal and flexible working environment. We value a strong focus on impact and evidence, pairing this with an emphasis on friendliness and teamwork to build a collaborative work culture focused on maximising the benefit our work brings to the world. Our office in East London is a lively and vibrant hub used by many of the founders and staff of our incubated organisations, as well as AIM’s team, and regular visitors from the wider effectiveness-focused communities in London.
