Careers at Centre for Big Synergy

Centre for Big Synergy (CBS) is a not-for-profit, global consortium of change makers who share the vision of creating a thriving, capable and responsible future for us and generations to come. The leadership and advisory of CBS include UK Cabinet Office advisors, United Nations advisors, as well as distinguished academics, scientists, film and media personalities, professionals from international development, food and hospitality, sustainable development, healthcare and medicine, business and social enterprise, to name a few.   Mission: Facilitate the responsible creation and evolution of products, practices and policies. Centre for Big Synergy is running the Big Synergy Initiative, a United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) commitment. As a part of this initiative, several global projects are currently being executed by our pro-bono advisors, consultants and volunteers. They organise, lead and coordinate these projects and contribute towards the smooth running of the organisation. The projects vary in scope, address one or more of the UNSDGs, and hence benefit different communities across the strata of the society, in different countries, depending on the scope of the projects. Emphasis is always on making members of public aware of the UNSDGs, the significance of those in their lives and involving them in these projects run by CBS. This ensures a multiplicative effect on the progress and impact of these projects in the long term.   Beneficiaries  To name a few, these are individuals living below the poverty line, disabled and less-able children, women and men; the LGBTQ+ community, young people battling mental health issues, the wider wildlife and marine life, and in essence each and every one of us in this complexly interconnected world through the several environment- and health-focussed projects run by CBS.   Services Through CBS' projects, individuals and communities are offered awareness, education and opportunities to overcome the issues faced by them starting from poverty, to poor health or sanitation or their greater acceptance in the wider society. The projects also aim to protect the wider environment, wildlife and marine life against pollution and irreparable damage originating from human activities. Human health, wellness and empowerment opportunities are also offered as part of several projects.   Impact CBS is indebted to the pro bono advisors, consultants and volunteers for the encouraging impact the projects have produced thus far. While most of the projects are in their early stages starting mostly in 2019, some have already been quite impactful. For instance, the 'Microplastic Free 2030' project that aims to reach a billion children worldwide to make them aware of microplastic pollution, its impact on us and the environment to limit and eradicate microplastic pollution by 2030, has already reached hundreds and thousands of children especially in Asia. These children are now adapting their needs and wants and also influencing their friends and families to limit microplastic pollution. CBS' Big Syn International film Festival is currently in its second year. It is the world's biggest online film festival dedicated entirely to meaningful films depicting one or more of the UNSDGs. in 2019, over 30000 filmmakers from over 70 counties were reached, with nearly 400 entries and over 250,000 viewers, the festival has now successfully inspired close to a million people about the UNSDGs and their individual roles in the UN 2030 Agenda. Individuals inspired from these films are joining CBS as volunteers or taking their own steps to fulfil the UNSDGs in their local communities.
