Careers at Care Now Volunteers

CareNow Volunteers impacts the residents of care homes, the carers and the volunteers themselves. A social evaluation has shown that CareNow Volunteers contributes to a decreased loneliness for residents of care homes, an increase in staff time releasing them to focus on more nursing care activity, which also decreases stress for staff working within care home.   CareNow Volunteers works with other Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise Organisations to find volunteering placements for their beneficiaries.  Placing motivated volunteers within a care home setting benefits them with an increased sense of wellbeing and increased employability. We strive to help our volunteers into paid roles (currently 24%) which ultimately improves the Care Sector workforce development and retention. Research proves that it is important that older people in care homes stay connected with their local community to reduce the risk of feeling lonely and isolated which can impact their health and wellbeing.
