Ategi has a track record of supporting people through our services to achieve positive change in their lives. Our purpose is the relief of people in need, our beneficiaries, whether by reason of learning or physical disability, mental ill health, age related need or other disadvantage. Our five strategic priorities are: Quality Support: This is about offering support to more people, supporting people in new geographies, supporting more diverse people, and finding new ways to support people to meet their needs. ategi People: To deliver this growth of high quality services, we need to recruit and retain the right people as our staff and our Shared Lives carers. ategi’s strategy focusses on being an employer of choice, and excellent provider of support to Shared Lives Carers. We will be refreshing an improving our approach to support, training and development at all levels, delegating decision making as far as possible, encouraging people to try new things and take risks, and seeing mistakes and failures as learning. Future Fit: The world has changed and is changing fast – ategi needs to invest in itself to ensure that we are fit for the future, and ready to deliver this growth in support in effective, efficient, engaging and supportive ways. This is about securing the benefits of digitalisation, empowering and enabling people through an enhacned welsh language offer, refreshing quality assurance and impact measurement as well as continually improving our back office functions and governance processes Diverse Income : To support all of this work, we need to ensure we are financially sustainable. We will do this through using our charitable status to generate fundraising income and through establishing a trading company. The trading company will enable ategi to deliver for-profit work in areas that will respond to challenges we face – such as the recruitment of support workers – whilst generating an income to go back into the charity – for example by setting up a Support Worker Agency. Setting up both the fundraising function and trading company and determining what it will deliver are key first steps to diversifying our income. Co-production & Influence: We have great people at ategi – the people we support and their families, our Shared Lives Carers, our staff and trustees. By embedding co-production in all that we do, we will achieve better results – for those we support and the wider sector. By developing our work informed first-hand by those we support, we are more likely to get it right for those needing support in the future. We have already started both in front-line delivery, and in developing this strategy, to involve more ategi people, and we will do much more of this. We will also hear the voices of all ategi people, and use our platforms to raise individual and collective voices about the issues affecting those we support in their lives. Ategi will also increasingly be using its position to become a thought leader of the future – using our collective knowledge to look out and forwards, and seek to influence the wider society in particular around issues that impact on those we support.
