Jigsaw South East provides vital support to 600 children and young people every year who have experienced the death of a significant family member or who have a family member with a life-limiting condition, working throughout Surrey and nearby parts of Sussex and Kent. Our service is delivered by a team of experienced Support Workers, helping and includes a helpline providing immediate advice and resources; online information sessions for parents and professionals; opportunities for families to come together; activity days and expert work with schools and other services. We help children and young people understand and deal with the range of emotions they feel as they cope with or face the death of someone they love. We support their mental health, assure them what they are feeling is normal, help to build confidence and resilience and manage better at school. We give parents the skills and understanding to support their child whilst dealing with their own grief and help to rebuild and strengthen family relationships. Our vision is that children and young people will not be alone in their bereavement journey. We have over ten years’ experience of delivering specialist bereavement services to children and young people and are constantly seeking ways to develop our service and extend our reach.
