The Photographic Collections Network (PCN) works with existing photographic collections, advocating for and raising their profile nationally. PCN, as a subject specialist network, which provides support for anyone who owns or works with historic photographic collections or has an interest in them. This is predominantly museums, archives, cultural heritage practitioners, photographic researchers and practitioners, students and commercial collection holders. There is a lack of support in this sector, meaning that important British photographic collections have been lost or sold and are no longer available to the public. By supporting heritage and historic photographic collections (both public and commercial) we can increase public access, care and knowledge around these important national assets.
