The Association of Clinical Scientists (ACS) has the principal function of assessing candidates from a wide range of clinical science disciplines who seek to become State Registered Clinical Scientists. The ultimate beneficiaries of this process is the patients that are treated within the NHS (or less commonly the private sector).
