York Women's Counselling Service (YWCS) is an innovative and growing charity which received the MBE for charities, Kings Award for Voluntary Service, in 2023.  Our mission is to provide high quality counselling for women experiencing problems as a result of emotional stress or trauma, when and for as long as they need it and regardless of their ability to pay. Operating in the wider York area, we have 3 members of staff, 8 trustees and over 20 volunteers. We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation Our organisation is For Women, Run by Women. We are looking for women trustees who can help us further strengthen the strategic leadership of YWCS as well as develop and grow our service.
