About The Future Society:

The Future Society (TFS) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating in the United States and Europe with the mission to align AI through better governance. We develop, advocate for, and facilitate the implementation of governance mechanisms designed to ensure AI systems are safe and uphold fundamental values. Through our work, we collaborate with intergovernmental organizations, governments, companies, academic institutions, think tanks, and other civil society organizations. We are a global team that operates primarily remotely, with team members in many countries. We collaborate remotely using platforms including Zoom, Slack, and Coda, and we have in-person retreats that take place twice a year. This role has specific working hour requirements in order to overlap with the whole team, ensuring availability for meetings from 7:00am for a successful candidate on Pacific time, or until 7:30pm for a successful candidate on Central European time.
