📣 Mission & Purpose
Having worked with Reef-World for over a decade, our mission and purpose has remained steadfast, the team has managed to keep it front and centre of the work we do without scope shift. Reducing threats to coral reefs on a global scale is a huge challenge, and Reef-World has diligently built our programmes and systems to be a strong foundation for conservation impact, that is now rapidly accelerating.

Reef-World has always had a strong investment on staff well-being, and as the team has grown in the last two years, they have made impressive changes to the Culture of Care to scale that investment to meet the needs of a bigger team.

Reef-World recruits team members not just for their skills and abilities but their values and opportunity for growth within the charity. The team is very supportive of colleagues mental health and wellbeing as well as helping each other grow professionally.

I am proud that Reef-World continues to keep true to it's values and mission as it grows from a small to medium sized charity, not an easy feat! We celebrate wins, and professional growth and the conservation impact we work to is tangible, accessible and widespread.

Mental, emotional, and physical health are all taken care of far beyond the legal requirements, and the organisation is constantly adapting and updating to stay at the forefront in these areas.

While most NGOs should have transparency, The Reef-World Foundation is more active in this area than any other I have worked for. Nothing is kept secret from the staff and everyone is considered equal in this.

As with the progressive employee wellbeing policies, flexibility is maximised to allow for staff to still find time to enjoy things in the day and work when they are most comfortable and productive.

Particularly for the conservation sector, an industry that is notorious for low salaries, burn-out, and general lack of care for staff wellbeing, The Reef-World Foundation are pushing themselves to improve the lives of their employees while also committing to effective conservation work world-wide.

Working at the Reef-World Foundation allows me to apply my skillset and expertise to a problem very dear to myself, the preservation of our ocean. This is the first role I find myself in really being a part of the solution not the problem

The team at Reef-World is incredible to work with. It's an extremely diverse team with a variety of different skillsets and personalities. Due to the Culture of Care within this organisation this leads to a very nice and empowering environment to work in making our differences our strength and not a hurdle

🥰 Employee recognition
Coming from corporate environment I was used to a nothing is ever good enough mentality with little to no recognition. Working for an organisation where you get recognition for your achievements and also see the impact these have on the overall mission is incredible

Sure thing! Working at Reef-World has not only allowed to work for passion rather than income for the first time in my life, but also the team and work practices at hand have helped me to excel in new fields, learn a lot in the process and become a better person overall.
