Position: Education Programme Manager - Sustainable Business and Eco-farming
Lead our educational initiatives in North Sumatra, helping children and adults acquire new skills that support their educational and career aspirations. As the Education Programme Manager, you’ll oversee and deliver our Sustainable Business and Eco-farming Programmes. You’ll train and guide our team of Programme Coordinators and International Volunteers to create engaging lessons for the communities we serve.
What We Are Looking For
We seek passionate individuals eager to make a difference in a rural community through education and community work. Beyond teaching and management, this role offers a rich cultural experience where you’ll become an integral part of the Bukit Lawang community, located on the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park. This role is not just a job—it’s an opportunity to immerse yourself in local life, build strong relationships with guides, businesses, and families, and contribute to our established success.
Responsibilities
- Line manage Programme Coordinators and volunteers
- Oversee and participate in programme delivery
- Ensure high-quality training for staff and volunteers to plan and teach engaging lessons
- Liaise with Trustees, local partners, and the community
- Continue developing programmes to meet the needs of target communities
- Co-manage the Trust Hub, including supporting programmes, finances, fundraising, events, and maintenance
- Assist with operational duties, including recruitment, reporting and financial record-keeping
Location
Based in Bukit Lawang, with some travel to nearby villages and occasionally to Medan and Binjai.
