ISSOS is looking for a Female Counselor to join our team. We are an international summer school that provides a balanced summer program of academia, fun and culture for 13–18 year olds from over 80 nationalities, at St Andrews, Cambridge and Yale universities.
The role involves looking after the welfare of all 160 students on campus, helping your group to bond and being a positive role model for them. You will also be responsible for running and taking part in the evening programme and sporting activities, running and supervising the cultural trips included in the programme, and ensuring our students are happy and safe at all times.
Job requirements include previous experience working with young people (minimum 2 years), fluency in English, and interests in sport, music, theatre, dance and other hobbies would be advantageous. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to have a positive impact on young people, is fun in nature and doesn’t take themselves too seriously, works well in a team and has a flexible attitude, stays calm under pressure, has clear and effective communication skills, and is enthusiastic with the ability to self-motivate and use their initiative.
The job offers a salary of £2000 GBP per session ( £4000 GBP for the full contract), with up to £150 reimbursed for travel to/from St Andrews. Accommodation and meals are provided in the halls of residence once students arrive, however, staff are responsible for their meals during Orientation.

All of our staff must pass a full criminal background check. Successful applicants will be expected to hold a current PVG/DBS or equivalent enhanced background check/be willing to obtain one. The cost of this will be covered by the company. Employment will be subject to the company receiving two references from previous employees covering your suitability for the specific position and working with those under 18 years old.
